Over the past 2 years, but especially in the last 14 months, something beautiful has been happening in my life — something that has truly changed everything.
Going to church regularly again after so many years away has completely transformed me. God has softened my heart, deepened my faith, and opened my eyes to how much I need Him not just on Sundays, but in every corner of my life — including my kitchen, my home, and especially around our family table.
As my faith has grown, I've felt a deep, undeniable tug to share the Word of God more boldly — and to weave it naturally into everything I do, even here at Scratch Made Mama. Not perfectly, not forcefully — but prayerfully and with joy, just as God leads me.
One of the places He’s been stirring my heart the most lately is at the dinner table. It’s such a sacred space — a time when our family gathers after busy days, sets aside distractions, and shares meals, conversations, and laughter together. I've been thinking a lot about how I can make our time around the table even more centered on Him — not by adding pressure or more "to-dos," but simply by inviting God's presence to be part of our meals.
Why I Created This 31 Day Prayer Challenge
- I have been thinking about how we can honor Him through more of our routines, especially those that our daughters are involved in
- I wanted it to be quick and simple
- Something that was a conversation starter and naturally open the door for deeper conversations as a family
Each day offers a short, heartfelt prayer — a starting place to invite God into our mealtimes and plant seeds of gratitude, faith, and love in our homes.
My prayer is that this simple challenge would be:
- A prompt when you're tired and not sure what to say
- A springboard for deeper discussion about God's goodness
- A reminder that faith doesn't have to be complicated — it can grow in the simplest, everyday moments, and He just wants us to spend time with Him, every moment counts.
How this challenge works
- Each day for the month of May (or whatever month you start this), read the short prayer listed for that day before or during your meal.
- You can:
- Say it together out loud as a family
- Have one person read it while everyone listens
- Or use it quietly in your own heart as you prepare or serve the meal
- Example:
- If today’s prayer is: "Lord, fill our home with laughter and joy,"
- you might say it at the start of dinner, and then ask everyone at the table:
- What's one thing that made you laugh today?
It doesn’t have to be perfect or formal — it just creates space for God to be part of your family conversations in a natural, meaningful way.

Final Words
Mama, you don’t have to have all the right words. You don’t have to have a Pinterest-perfect table (we sure don't)! You don’t have to lead a deep Bible study over dinner. Just invite God into your home, your meals, your everyday moments — and He will do the rest. I’m right here walking this journey with you — learning, growing, and praying for more of Him in my home and heart too.Let's make our tables a little glimpse of heaven this month.
